Bed Frames
Remember the story of the princess and the pea? Well, it brings home the fact that a bed is more than a mattress! Although it might be added that a mattress alone can feel pretty sweet after roughing it in a tent at the campground!
Once you've found the mattress that fits your body best you need box springs. This supports your mattress and gives you the comfort you deserve from it. However, over time, your mattress will eventually sag, putting pressure on the box springs. In comes the bed frame! It will take the pressure off of the box springs.
You can find a simple metal bed frame on rollers for approximately $50 and just start out like that.
Eventually you'll want a little more from a bed frame. There are many style options available allowing you to express your taste and tie your bed in with your existing home decor. Most importantly, a bed frame can elicit the tone in the room you sleep in. Let it invite you to slumber land.
You will be able to find metal bed frames for classic appeal through to sustainably harvested wood and unfinished chemical-free wood. Entertain the idea of a four poster bed, a panel bed, or a platform bed. Which one calls you to sleep?
For space saving purposes there are folding bed frames, known as "klic-klacs" in Europe, or loft beds (formerly called bunk beds). Check that the distance between the floor and the box spring will allow for under-the-bed storage if that's something you could benefit from.
Most bed frames clean up nicely with a damp cloth and a mild cleaner.
